Neuro-linguistic programming
Neuro-linguistic programming comprises a sum of techniques, beliefs and approaches that trained specialists use as a completely new method of approaching personal development. The foundations of NLP were initially set during the 1970's by specialists in the field of linguistics and social science: Richard Bandler, John Grinder and Gregory Bateson. They made use of a set of models to explore the way that language patterns interact with the mind, as well as the way that human perception is organized, resulting in a subjective reality and distinct human behaviours. A thorough understanding of these processes allows NLP specialists to use specific techniques in order to change behaviours, transform beliefs, treat traumas or phobias.

What is NLP
Neuro-linguistic programming's essence cannot be captured in one single definition. Those who have studied and those who have practiced NLP over the years have given various meanings to it, but each of them is only one angle which constructs a multi-dimensional view on a complex matter.
