Training
- There is a minimum of 130 hours of live training required, including testing. The training sessions must be spread over a period no less than 18 days. An additional out of school training of at least 10 full hours is necessary and the recommended supervision consists of 15 hours of individual or group supervision during this period.
- 80% of the live training must be led by a fellow member trainer, while the other 20% can by led by any other qualified person, but with the supervision of a trainer. Each group of 15 participants or more has to be supervised by a person with NLP practitioner certification or higher.
Abilities
NLP practitioners must have reached the following level in understanding and practicing NLP:
- They must prove knowledge and behavioral integration of the main presuppositions of NLP
- They must have knowledge of basic skills, abilities, techniques, patterns, methods and concepts of NLP, as well as a personal ability in utilizing them competently with themselves and others
- They must possess these basic abilities:
- Rapport, establishment and maintenance of;
- Pacing and Leading (verbal and non-verbal);
- Outcome orientation with respect for others models of the world and the ecology of the system;
- Calibration (sensory experience);
- Representational systems (predicates and accessing cues);
- Demonstration of behavioral flexibility;
- Resource-orientation and
- ecology of interventions.

Written test
The final written test required for practitioner certification will require proof of integration and knowledge of the following concepts:
- NLP-Presuppositions
- Outcome work
- Rapport
- Anchoring
- Representational systems
- Meta-Model of language
- Milton-Model of language
- Timeline
- Strategies
- Submodalities
- NLP-Techniques
- Ecology
Each test is designed by a fellow member trainer. The tests should be stored for at least three years after the testing date.
Practical testing
Each NLP Practitioner training is finalized with a period of practical testing. This will enable the applicants to demonstrate their personal integration of NLP presuppositions and techniques, such as problem elicitation, rapport, sensory awareness, flexibility and sensory specific feedback.
The Certificate
The NLP Practitioner Certificate will contain:
- a statement that the training was held in accordance with IANLP standards
- the original seal of IANLP
- a statement of the duration of the training period
- the exact date of the beginning and end of training
- the name and signature of a fellow IANLP member trainer
- the title NLP-Practitioner IANLP
